About this course

This module is part of the Teaching & Learning Skils Development course. Each module comprises a short introduction to key skills.  Teachers are challenged to implement these skils over the duration of a month and reflect on their progress toward outstanding provision. 

Requirements

30 Day Challenge

To implement your new learning and support your journey toward becoming a master teacher the following skills, which demonstrate this module’s outcomes, should be practiced over the next 30 days

Where possible, find a colleague who you know is highly skilled in this area.

Shadow them and learn from them. Ask them to support you by observing you put these new skills into action.

Google and watch Tony Wagner’s Lecture on Learning Skills “7 skills Students need”

At least once a day provide students the opportunity to develop critical thinking skills through one of the activities discussed here.

 

At least once a week have students lead a lesson or part of a lesson to demonstrate their mastery and knowledge

In most lessons implement at least one opportunity to use technology

In all lessons challenge students to “Think outside the Box” or to thinking of the “wrong Answer” 

At least once a week complete an Entrepreneurial Activity of your choice

In all lessons challenge students to analyse information deeply. Question their reasoning

In most lessons implement at least one opportunity to use technology
